The media industry has gone through a radical change during the last decade. Nowadays Google and Facebook are being cited as “The Digital Duopoly”. This shift has opened up new possibilities for data-driven media purchasing and this has lead to that traditional media agencies are being challenged by the new generation agencies that specializes on digital channels and data. Precis Digital has since its start of 2012 grown to be one of Europe’s biggest digital media agencies, with over 200 employees spread among offices in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Great Britain. This lecture will cover reasons for this shift in the industry and the challenges that Precis Digital are facing. Beyond this, focus will be on how a company with support of data can develop algorithms that will better understand the value of marketing investments and thereby optimize them
